Our Leadership Team

Teri Ferguson, RN, BSN, Founder

Teri founded Nurses Serving Our Neighbors as the culmination of a dream to work with others to advocate for the most vulnerable in our community as Faith Community Nurses. Prior to founding Nurses Serving Our Neighbors, Teri established a Parish Nurse Program within a hospital system in Tennessee and volunteered in her own church as a parish nurse for 10 years. She was also instrumental in the startup of a mobile clinic in Appalachia serving the working poor and uninsured by recruiting and training nurse volunteers.  Her nursing career spans over 30 years and has included experience as Program Director in an alcohol and drug inpatient treatment program, Assistant Director of Nursing in a psychiatric hospital, Program Director of an adolescent, adult and geriatric day treatment program, as well as Director of Nursing for an assistant living facility which included a memory care center.  She and her husband Brian are blessed with two sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. Spending time with family and friends and getting out on the golf course in good weather are two of her greatest joys!

Robyn Magyar, RN, Nursing Program Director

Robyn joined Nurses Serving Our Neighbors in July 2023 after 33 years in the nursing profession with concentrations in cardiac nursing, education, leadership, quality management and care management. Through the years, Robyn and her family have had a passion for helping underserved communities through meal preparation, serving, and delivery. NSON was the perfect next step for Robyn as she was praying and discerning God’s Will for her life after her nursing career.  Robyn has also been involved in Bereavement Ministry and in Prayer Ministry as a graduate of The Marian Servants of Divine Providence and Franciscan University of Steubenville’s Spiritual Direction Program in Clearwater, Florida. She is very excited to be a part of recruiting, mentoring, and working with our volunteers who provide the gift of being present, with generous “doses” of listening, compassion, and empathy to our Neighbors as they journey back to good health and a sense of wellbeing.  Robyn and her husband Steve are blessed with 3 sons and 3 daughters as well as 15 active grandchildren. They love to go to Kure Beach every chance they get with their big, “always an adventure” family. In their spare time they plan lots of family celebrations and overnights with their grandchildren!
