Nurses Serving Our Neighbors

ADVOCATE | NAVIGATE | EDUCATE | ACCOMPANY

No one should journey alone.

Nurses Serving Our Neighbors is a Charlotte-area ministry founded upon and inspired by the principles of Faith Community Nursing, a specialty practice of the American Nurses Association. Our aim is to empower our neighbors to take charge of their wellbeing by strengthening social support and fostering compassionate, whole-person health in body, mind, and spirit.

Nurses Serving Our Neighbors organizes and supports volunteers (licensed nurses and others) who have a heartfelt desire to walk alongside our neighbors in need of accompaniment and whole-person health advocacy, navigation, and education.

By our presence, we bring Christ's message of love and hope!

By our presence, we bring Christ's message of love and hope!

  • ADVOCATE

We ADVOCATE by serving as a compassionate, knowledgeable bridge connecting neighbors with healthcare providers and the resources they need.

  • NAVIGATE

We NAVIGATE the complexities of accessing, coordinating, and scheduling healthcare and available resources.

  • EDUCATE

We EDUCATE our neighbors about the importance of whole-person health as well as disease management, prevention, medications, and appropriate resources.

  • ACCOMPANY

We ACCOMPANY because no one should journey alone. By our presence, we bring Christ’s message of love and hope!

Our Volunteers

Our volunteers are licensed nurses, case managers, interpreters, prayer warriors, and others with a passion for helping our neighbors achieve their health goals.

Our volunteers have faith. Faith that drives them to serve as the hands and feet of Christ to restore dignity, listen without judgment, and stand beside our neighbors at their most vulnerable.

Our volunteers have heart. Their service is not measured in shifts or charts, but in the countless small mercies that ripple outward: a reassuring touch, a thoughtful explanation, and a presence that says you are not alone.

Our volunteers breathe life into our mission. They focus on “caring, not curing” to advocate, navigate and educate our neighbors about the importance of whole-person health in body, mind, and spirit.
