Why Do We Advocate?
Who Do We Serve?
We serve our neighbors in the Charlotte area.
A neighbor might be your friend, the new mother feeling overwhelmed, the elderly man living alone, the cashier at the grocery store, or the person experiencing homelessness. Simply put—a neighbor is any individual who seeks our help and support during their journey to holistic health.
“Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” Matthew 22:39
Origins of Nurses Serving Our Neighbors
Nurses Serving Our Neighbors was founded by Teri Ferguson as a continuation of a long-held calling: to serve the most vulnerable in a community through the compassionate work of Faith Community Nursing. Teri has always felt this calling–not only to care for others in need of support, but to build a network of nurses who could amplify that care and extend its reach. What began as a personal mission of ministering from her church in 2019, with just a handful of nurses quickly grew into a larger collaborative effort, rooted in faith, compassion, and the belief that everyone deserves access to holistic and compassionate care.
Nurses Serving Our Neighbors became a 501(c)(3) charitable agency in 2021, and today, continues to grow and serve, driven by the same spirit of service and commitment that inspired its beginning.
